| About School Choice |
Parental responsibility is in itself a basic human good, and parental choice in education is a cherished freedom in the United States , widely available and widely practiced by those whose resources allow them to exercise it. Poorer parents, however, are left behind. The American public deserves educational policies and structures that will enable all parents, not just those who are financially fortunate, to choose the school that will best help them to fulfill their responsibility toward their children. School choice brings all families into that circle where parental responsibility is exercised and family dignity is respected. That alone is a great good, and from it can flow benefits – social, fiscal, scholastic – that will be immense and immensely consequential. |
